Give your child the best opportunity to develop academically, spiritually and socially.
Bede Polding College is a comprehensive, co-educational Catholic school. Established in 1986 under the leadership and guidance of the Marist Brothers and the Good Samaritan Sisters, Bede Polding College serves the parish of St Matthew’s, Windsor and St Monica’s, Richmond, and the needs of the people of the Hawkesbury.
Our College strives to be a dynamic, harmonious Catholic community which values and encourages each member to strive for personal excellence; nurtures individuals as they grow to believe in their self worth, and works to equip each member with the skills and passion to make a difference in the community. We are challenged by our College motto, Called to Bring Peace.
A firm vision and direction
Bede Polding College has a firm vision for what we want for our College graduates. Our students leave our school firm in the conviction that they are valued members of our school community. They are encouraged to strive for personal excellence and to believe in their self-worth. Most importantly, they are equipped with the skills and passion to make a difference in our local community and beyond.
Bede Polding students are well-prepared to enter adulthood firm in their belief in themselves and in the call to be peacemakers in our often troubled world.
Excellence in Learning
At Bede Polding College we strive for excellence in learning and teaching. We aim to achieve educational goals based on each student’s individual ability by:
- developing a community of cooperative learners
- developing reflective practices
- providing effective and relevant feedback
- using explicit quality report criteria, including literacy
- teaching, assessing and reporting on students’ literacy skills
- celebrating achievements
Developing Student Leadership
With around 1200 students, Bede Polding College is a dynamic and engaging school. Student Leadership has a significant part to play in developing the positive spirit and culture present in our community. Our Student Representative Council (SRC) members are elected by their peers and teachers. They have to meet certain benchmarks in terms of the College merit system before they can nominate for these positions. Their leadership responsibilities included organising and running College assemblies, representing the College at special events, running fund raising events for the SRC charity, and various tasks as requested by the Principal.
We are proud of the active part the College SRC plays in our school, and how ably they lead our school community in education, faith and life.
