All children and young people have a right to an education that is free from discrimination, harassment and bullying. Students who are the targets of persistent bullying can suffer long-term psychological, social and developmental damage that can continue into their adult years.
Complaints, where possible, are to be resolved closest to the source of the complaint. Complaints will be addressed professionally, competently and in a timely manner applying principles of natural justice and confidentiality.
The purpose of this document is to provide practical guidance to principals, pastors and parents in addressing enrolment applications to systemic Catholic schools.
Teachers in Catholic schools have special responsibility for the care and guidance of students.
